2025 is going to be the year of Apple as the company is all set to bring a new device with the iPhone 17 line up. Until now, we have seen a lot of rumors and leaks related to the Apple iPhone 17 Air.
Now, the latest reports regarding the smartphone suggest that it has already entered the new product introduction phase which could be dubbed as the first initiative towards the manufacturing of the ultra-thin variant. As it has been previously stated, Apple will bring a new sleek iPhone to appeal to the users and it is going to be the most expensive offering from the series.
Apple iPhone 17 Air: All that you need to know
Until now, Apple has introduced phones in a set series – a base variant, a Pro variant, and a Pro Max variant. After a while, the Cupertino-based giant made a few changes by introducing the Min and the Plus variant. And now, with the Apple iPhone 17 series in the making, we can say that Apple could bring the iPhone 17 Air as part of the series. Previous reports suggest that the Apple iPhone 17 Air will have a display size identical to the iPhone 17 Plus but will have a slimmer chassis.
We also got to know from multiple sources that the upcoming Air variant is going to be the thinnest iPhone ever. It will be around 6mm thick, in terms of percentage, it will be around 25% thinner than the standard model. In terms of specifications, 9To5Mac reported that the device will have a spec sheet similar to the Pro variant.
However, the iPhone will get only single sensor. And even after that, there are high chances that the smartphone will be the costliest from the line up. This is going to be Apple’s first move towards introducing a slim variant. And we can also get to see the chassis being implemented on all the future iPhones.
Coming back to the new product introduction phase (NPI), it is the process in which Apple and the suppliers will work collaboratively on the manufacturing of the design. The same has also been reported by Digitimes as well. The product engineers at Apple will work closely with Foxconn to make them understand the assembly process of the device.
